FAQ

Bristles: Soft, Medium Or Hard

I am used to brushing with medium or hard bristles. Does TOKII have these?

Most dentists will tell you that soft bristles are the safest & comfortable choice. This is true not just for sensitive teeth or weak gums but also for any & everyone.

The American Dental Association (ADA) on their website says:

“When it comes to choosing a brush, go soft. Whether you use a manual or powered toothbrush, choose a soft bristled brush. Firm or even medium strength bristles may cause damage to your gums and enamel.

When brushing your teeth, don’t scrub vigorously only brush hard enough to clean the film of your teeth.”

We at TOKII listened and have chosen to go with soft bristles currently.

I used the TOKII scraper for about two weeks and it slides in & out slowly.

What do I need to do?

What is the best way to clean this?

This occurs when the debris from the tongue sometimes gets into the toothbrush groove.

Here’s a secret – press the knob of the TOKII scraper slightly harder than you would for normal scraping.

While keeping it pressed With the help of your other hand pull the scraper out of the brush stem.

Clean the brush groove & the scraper under warm running water. If you see any deposits inside the brush stem you can use an unused cotton swab that we use to clean our ears to scrape it off.

Keep TOKII under running warm water to rinse the gunk off.

How often do I need to clean the hygienic holder?

Is it ok to keep TOKII on the sink counter?

It is recommended that you clean the hygienic holder with liquid soap and running warm water once or twice a week.

The holder was designed specifically to hold TOKII well. However, if you notice carefully, even while lying flat on the counter the head and the scraper do not touch the surface on which it is lying.

How often do I need to replace TOKII?

As recommended by most dentists, do replace TOKII every three months.

In case you have been unwell for a while or have an infection of some sort, do consider changing your TOKII earlier.

Good hygiene and health are priceless!

Does TOKII tongue scraper work as well as the metal scraper?

The half moon shaped tongue scraper size is nearly a perfect fit for most. Unlike a metal tongue scraper, The Tokii scraper is very convenient to use on the sides of the tongue too. So, it works better than the metal Tongue scraper. For those who are challenged with metal in their mouth, Tokii is definitely a better option too.
